1. What attracted you to Nuvo at Parc Centre?
“I was looking for something that was small and easy to take care of. I think it was the location initially and once I started getting into the process, it felt right. It’s literally 15 minutes from everything – that’s what I liked about it. I’m 10 minutes from work and I have horses in Delaware so I’m 15 minutes from the barn. It’s very peaceful.”
2. What was it that made you decide to buy a condo here? The ability to customize your finishes? Size of the condos? Amenities? Location?
“I heard about Nuvo through friends of mine. They had seen the condos and suggested I come over and look. They thought I would be interested and it turned out I was. I really like the security of the building and the fact you can park underground. I’m a big nature lover and the area around here has always been high on birds. There’s a red-tailed hawk and a falcon that live in the trees over there that I watch daily. That was an added bonus once I was here.”
“Old Oak has made it so easy for me. The maintenance guys and the construction guys have all been so attentive. When I moved in, it was during my busy season at work. They were very accommodating trying to get in to do things off-hours. I was really grateful for how accommodating they were. Their service has been excellent. I literally have nothing to complain about.”
3. Where did you move from? What style of home were you living in?
“I didn’t know what the process was since I had lived in my house for 20 years. Old Oak made it really easy for me. I like the idea of having three choices of pretty much everything and having Mary Arthur there to co-ordinate colours. It’s very hard to see what it’s all going to look like together, so it was great to have Mary there to sort it all out and make suggestions.”
4. What are you enjoying most about your new condo and about the lifestyle Nuvo offers?
“I’m a very active person, so having the fitness centre and the trails all around here and being able to hop on my bike and go really attracted me to the building. I bought a garden plot through the seniors centre, so I walk over there all the time. I planted my vegetable garden and my cut flowers. I’m also a runner and I run pretty much everywhere there is to run around this area. I’ve taken full advantage of everything around here.”
5. If a friend or a family member were interested in moving to Nuvo, what would tell them about the building?
“I’ve had a lot of people through here. I think I’ve taken everyone who has visited me through the model suites. They’ve all been very impressed. They can’t wait to stay in the guest suite. I’m comfortable and happy here. There aren’t very many places in London where you can have an easy entrance to a new life – that was me. After I had unpacked, it felt like home right away. I’d walk in the door and I’d instantly feel comfortable. That’s what people who have visited me say, too. They say they come in and they feel cosy. I like that.”
Ray and Mavis Jesson
1. What attracted you to Nuvo at Parc Centre?
Mavis: “A lot of it was the activity centre, for the pool mostly and the café. The pool and the gym are great for the exercise, but it’s nice to have a café. When you walk out, you go in and meet somebody and have a cup of coffee – that’s how you meet people. You’re not isolated in your own apartment. You get to make friends with the other people and I like that. There’s also the convenience of being so close to downtown and everything else. We didn’t want to go too far from where we used to live.”
Ray: “The grounds are very nice, too, with all the trees. When you’re on the walking trails behind the apartment buildings, you wouldn’t even know you were in London. It’s so quiet and peaceful, it’s almost like being on a picnic. It’s a nice area and the grounds and the buildings are well maintained. There’s a friendly bunch of people here, too. It’s just like a little village.”
“It’s very centralized. You’re five minutes from downtown and five minutes from almost anywhere in London.”
2. What was it that made you decide to buy a condo here? The ability to customize your finishes? Size of the condos? Amenities? Location?
Ray: “One of the reasons we liked this building was the fact it’s not a high-rise. We also liked the size and the way the rooms were laid out, and the fact it had its own washer and dryer. It’s just the right size for us; we don’t want anything any larger. We’re quite comfortable here.”
Mavis: “When we walk in our front door, it’s light. There’s so much light here. Because we’re in an end unit, we have the patio doors in the bedroom that provide cross-ventilation. It’s a beautiful view out that bedroom window. It’s nice at night to see the lights. There’s always something going on.”
3. Where did you move from? What style of home were you living in?
Mavis: “We’ve been so busy since we moved here because we’re freer to come and go, and we don’t have to worry. It frees us up to travel. We just lock the door and go. It really has eased a lot of things. It was a terrible winter with an awful lot of snow. We had a big yard and a big pool and that was work.”
Ray: “It really does cut down on the responsibility of owning a home.”
4. What are you enjoying most about your new condo and about the lifestyle Nuvo offers?
Ray: “We picked it for the area, we picked it for the building and that style of condominium living as opposed to bungalows and high-rise buildings. We liked the design of the individual condominiums and we liked the builder, too. They’ve been very accommodating.”
Vanessa Vanderidder
1. What attracted you to Nuvo at Parc Centre?
“Nuvo is close to Cherryhill Village Mall, which has a 24-hour Metro store, Shoppers Drug Mart and the bank is nearby. The security was one of the biggest things. When someone comes to your door, if you’re not expecting anyone, you can see on your TV who it is. That was an added security feature for me.”
“ It’s beautiful here. There are parks, there are people with animals and it’s still close to downtown. You’re in your own calm environment and you don’t really hear traffic. People respect their property and take care of their environment and are proud of where they live. That was very key.”
2. What was it that made you decide to buy a condo here? The ability to customize your finishes? Size of the condos? Amenities? Location?
“This is a beautiful new chapter in my life, so having the option to pick granite and different cabinetry was wonderful. I didn’t even know where to begin because of the choices – you couldn’t go wrong. That’s where (design consultant) Mary Arthur came in. She said, ‘What do you like? When you sit in your place, what would you want in your surroundings?’ That was fantastic.”
“When I met the people at the presentation office, there was great customer service. They were very friendly. Any issues that I wanted to talk about or concerns that I had, I just called them up. They (Old Oak Properties) go above and beyond for customer service, which is awesome.”
“Old Oak are more than accommodating. When I had a small leak in my sink, I had six people working in here. It was fantastic. They’re amazing.”
3. Where did you move from? What style of home were you living in?
“I was moving from an apartment; this is my first home purchase. I like the apartment lifestyle. I wasn’t ready for the step up into taking care of a home and cutting the grass, doing the plumbing, doing the shingles and fixing the windows. It’s was a little too overwhelming for me.”
4. What are you enjoying most about your new condo and about the lifestyle Nuvo offers?
“It’s been an amazing positive experience.”
5. If a friend or a family member were interested in moving to Nuvo, what would tell them about the building?
“The design and the decor of the place are elegant – it’s just stunning. The balconies are big; mine is 167 square feet. It’s just lovely. You get what you pay for with the customer service and with the place. If you have any issues, if you have a little scratch, you call them and they’ll come and fix it, which is fantastic. It’s non-complicated. It’s easy living. I am happy and blessed.”
